Your Trip

Enjoy the Lake Michigan charter fishing experience see how it is done and what you need to bring.

Fishing for salmon and trout on a 38 foot motor yacht is an experience that all can enjoy. 23 years experience and the latest in tackle almost always guarantees success. The method of fishing on Lake Michigan is motor trolling. On the Blue Max we troll with up to 16 rods.

As the boat moves through the water, the captain and customers set tackle to provide an artificial lure to the fish at all potential water depths. Rods are placed in holders as the boat moves through areas where fish have been located. To find our fish we use a fish finder, temperature gauge and data recorded from previous trips. As the fish strikes one of the lures, the rod is removed from the holder and the battle is on! After the fish is boated, rods are reset and we continue our trolling pattern.

Fishing license and a salmon stamp are required.

Here is what is included:

  • Cleaning and bagging of fish
  • All tackle and bait
  • Ice for fish while on the boat
  • Safety equipment

We suggest you bring:

  • Warm clothing - the temperature is usually cooler on the lake.

  • Sunglasses
  • Food and Drink
  • Camera and Film
  • Cooler and ice to carry your catch home - all fish filleting is done at no charge.

You will need a valid Wisconsin Fishing License and a salmon stamp. We sell a two day resident or nonresident license for $14 [no stamp required]. We recommend an early departure for the most productive fishing; first light can be best or 1/2 hour before sunrise. Our normal morning departure time is 1/2 hour before sunrise to 7:00 a.m., while afternoon trips leave at 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Times can also be arranged on an individual basis. Plan to be at the boat at least twenty minutes before departure. Charters can accommodate one to six persons.
